<image:caption>After being in Hospitality Sales and Revenue Management for 17 years, I realized I was miserable. I had climbed the corporate ladder and was stressed out, overworked, and unfulfilled. Then Covid-19 happened, which changed the travel/hotel industry. I laid off most of my team while taking a huge pay cut and doing all their jobs. It was absolutely one of the worst times in my life. I had always wanted to go to cosmetology school but was pressured to go to college and get a corporate job. So, at 40, during the pandemic, I quit my job, to go back to school to get my Esthetician license and, opened my own business. I love taking care of people through skincare and massage. Helping people look and feel their best is a joy. I inserted my core values of being vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable into my business. My life looks so much different than it did 4 years ago and I am so grateful to be living my best authentic life. I offer Eminence Organics Facials, HydraFacials, and all of the Vegan Eminence Organics skincare products for homecare</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog Content - A Smash Blog Interview with Mallory Rhodes: Integrative Health Coach - I grew up in Southern California and moved to McKinney Texas with my boyfriend 2 years ago in search of something new. I’ve been a licensed esthetician for over 13 years and specialized in brows since the very beginning. In 2019 I got into permanent makeup and started to also offer powder brow tattooing.</image:title>
<image:caption>For the last 2 years I’ve built clientele here in Texas and have continued to travel back to CA for work every 6 weeks to service my loyal/new clients. For the last year I’ve been a student of the Institute For Integrative Nutrition. I started working with clients this past month and am currently on a 90 day journey to improve 3 women’s health and long term habits. Since 2019 after the sudden passing of my father, health came to the forefront of my mind. I’ve been utterly obsessed with going deeper, searching for root causes, improving my own body and mind naturally and am so excited to help others do the same. The move to Texas was very hard for me. Going from a busy brow artist to having no clientele and no name was rough. This slow season slowed me down enough to give me the opportunity to really sit with myself and ask if I was fulfilled and living up to my full potential. This new career path feels right and I feel blessed for the oppurtunity to serve others in the same ways that have made such a difference for not only me, but for those around me.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Well since I already talked about the beginning of my business I’ll jump ahead. The main obstacle I feel I’ve overcome was the denial that the career path I had chosen and was successful at for the last 13 years was coming to an end. It’s a hard thing to sit with. How many people do you know that feel unfulfilled in their jobs? It’s a fate I can’t live with. My dad passed in 2019 and years of bad habits packed with grief on top spiraled my health downhill. I detoxed myself from birth control, taught myself about cycle syncing, learned how to read ingredients and choose what is best for me and ultimately completely heal my hormonal acne, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, hair loss .. and more. As an integrative nutritional health coach, I’m passionate about helping women go from confused and disorganized on what they need to do for their health to clear on their path to wellness and aware of their specific needs. I want every woman to know they’re the authority of their own health and healing is possible.</image:caption>

We always like knowing about people’s favorite restaurants, dishes, drinks, etc! If we're sticking to the Frisco area, I would say Didi's Downtown, Cane Rosso, Heirloom Haul, Neighborhood Services, Uncle Julios's (so happy they're in Frisco now), Sushi Nunu , Cookie Society, and Jake's Burgers! Expanding to the DFW area, my go-to for a fancy meal are Town Hearth, Eddie V's, and Al Biernat's. I also love to dine at Haywire, Bulla Gastrobar, Pappadeaux, Kenny's Burger Joint, and Kenny's Woodfire Grill. ALL of those places sound SO good right now! Do you know of any best kept secrets ? <image:caption>I’m the owner and lead travel stylist of Travel Queen, where we specialize in crafting personalized, one-of-a-kind travel experiences for clients across the globe. My journey actually began in fashion merchandising, where my eye for luxury and love for the finer details truly developed. After spending years in the fashion and retail industry, I decided to pivot and combine my passion for travel with my knack for creating tailored experiences—and that’s how Travel Queen was born! The inspiration for Travel Queen came when I planned my own honeymoon to Italy. I realized just how overwhelming trip planning can be, and after receiving great feedback from friends who loved the custom itineraries I created for our girls’ trips, I knew there was a real need for personalized, immersive travel planning. So, I made it my mission to offer door-to-door service, handling every detail so clients can fully enjoy their journey. Today, we’ve grown into a full-service agency with travel stylists who specialize in everything from luxury escapes to accessible travel.</image:caption>

I founded Moving Minds Learning Solutions two and a half years ago with the goal of making a positive impact on individuals with learning differences. School was never easy for me, and I often resisted the extra support my parents offered. Now, looking back, I’m grateful for their understanding and the resources they provided. <image:title>Blog Content - A Smash Blog Interview with Salima Subramanian: CEO of Serenity Studio: Scalp & Skin. - Do you have any advice for our readers?</image:title>
<image:caption>If I could offer any advice, it would be to trust the process and stay consistent. Starting a business is never easy, and there will be moments where you question everything. I certainly had those moments when money was tight and clients were few. But one thing I’ve learned is that persistence really does pay off. Trust yourself and trust your instincts. You know more than you think you do. When it comes to pricing your services, charge your worth. Don’t undersell yourself because of fear or insecurity—it all starts there. Once you recognize the value you bring, others will too. In business, relationships are everything. Build genuine connections with your clients, focus on their needs, and offer a personal touch in everything you do. People can tell when you care, and that’s what builds trust over time. It’s not always about having the fanciest equipment or the biggest marketing budget—it’s about showing up authentically and offering something of real value. Another is to embrace your obstacles. When I started my Serenity Studio Headspa treatments, it came from dealing with my own hair issues. What felt like a problem turned into an opportunity, and it completely changed the direction of my business for the better. So don’t be afraid to turn your struggles into your strengths. Surround yourself with a supportive network, both personally and professionally. Whether it’s mentors, family, or like-minded business owners, having people who encourage you and believe in you makes all the difference. In my case, my dad was a huge inspiration, and now, I’m lucky to have a strong support system at home and in my community. Thank you to all who have stood by me!! That’s the way to embrace it. Remember: success takes time, but if you stay focused, work hard, and keep believing in yourself, you’ll get there!!</image:caption>

<image:caption>My current favorite restaurant is Quartinos or Perry's Steakhouse. I'm a pasta girl at heart, so I could eat that all day long. But I also love a nicely cooked steak. We absolutely love a great steak too, you should also try Bavette Grill! Do you know of any best kept secrets ? Something you wish more people knew about? In the makeup industry, the inspo photos that you show of a "natural makeup" look is really a full face of makeup! Models look like they have minimal makeup on, but some have layers of makeup on to withstand the heat, humidity, long hours, etc.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I started my business of Brianna Pineda Artistry in 2021 after graduating Cosmetology school. I started my journey in the bridal makeup world and have been in it ever since. I love being able to be apart of a brides wedding day. It's so magical and rewarding. This year I was able to quit my full time job to pursue my business more. That was a big obstacle that I had to face this year, because I was scared of taking such a big risk. I was scared of failing, but it has been the best decision that I've made. I've almost hit 50 weddings this year and am so proud of myself! It would not have been possible without me putting in the work to market, network and overall invest more in myself. I'm so excited for what 2025 has to offer!</image:caption>

<image:caption>For me, it's not about the specific places but rather the people I share experiences with. I love spending time at the boardwalks and exploring Legacy West. Whether it's enjoying a nice meal or just taking a stroll, the company makes all the difference! The connections I build in these moments are what truly matter. Do you know of any best kept secrets ? Something you wish more people knew about? One of the best-kept secrets I wish more people knew about is the power of self-connection. Taking time to truly understand ourselves—our emotions, needs, and values—can transform our relationships with others and enhance our overall well-being. When we are grounded in our own selves, we become better parents, friends, and partners. I encourage everyone to embrace practices like mindfulness or journaling to foster this connection, as it can lead to more meaningful interactions in all areas of life.</image:caption>

<image:caption>AIDesigns is a branding and design agency I founded with the goal of helping small businesses and organizations connect with their target audience in a meaningful way. What sets us apart is our focus on reflecting the essence of a brand in its marketing, so that the message comes through clearly without the owner needing to explain it. I noticed that traditional advertising agencies charge a fortune for brand identity work, which many small businesses simply can’t afford at an early stage. But they still need a polished, professional look to compete in the marketplace. So, I created affordable packages that allow businesses to visually tell their story through a step-by-step branding process, instead of doing everything at once. At AIDesigns, we start with a discovery call to understand where the business stands and what challenges they face. From there, I create a customized plan, whether they need to build their online presence, enhance their website, improve social media, or refine print materials. We break down the process step-by-step, yet always aim for a cohesive and polished brand look throughout. One obstacle I faced at AIDesigns was helping a small business with a scattered brand presence. Their logo, fonts, and colors varied across platforms, confusing their audience. With a limited budget, I broke the process into manageable steps, starting with their core values and gradually unifying their brand. By the end, their consistent look boosted recognition and customer engagement, proving that even with constraints, a strong brand presence can make a big impact.</image:caption>
